Green Drake hatch on the Henry's Fork

Just take a look back at some of our older posts and you will get the idea that June and July is the peak dry fly season on the Henry's Fork. The Green Drake hatch, Flavs, PMDs a plenty, and Golden Stones coupled with the onset of those warmer summer temperature make for magic on the river. The photos attached to this post attest to the thrill of landing big fish on small dry flies. When the summer temps keep the fish deep in cool water, casting streamers in the early morning and evening comes in to play.

Boise River: South Fork

South Fork of the Boise River Fishing Report

Ryan Sand with a nice rainbow.

Went and spent a day on the South Fork over the weekend with a few friends and managed to pick a great day to be on the water. The weather was as good as you could ask for being a February day. Started off in the morning in the mid 30's and worked it's way into the mid 40's by late afternoon. Light snow showers early followed by a few light rain showers throughout the day. The majority of the day was overcast with shots of blue sky poking through every so often. These days with overcast conditions can make for your better fishing days.

Owyhee River Fishing Report

I think I've caught this one before.

Managed to sneek away to the Owyhee with fellow business partner Justin Wells during the week. Not sure what I did to make the wife so satisfied but 4 days on the water out of 7 days must say something. Thanks Sweetheart!! Anyway it was a blue bird day with some moderately windy conditions. With that said it kept the fish down a little more than I expected. There were some fish working the the surface more towards the end of the day. Picked a couple off on midges right before we called it a day. The majority of the day was spent ripping meat through the water. All in all it fished well.
