The 2016 Salmon Fly hatch started about a week ago on the Henrys Fork. Word on the streets is the hatch started picking up steam on Wednesday on the Warm River to Ashton section, and it was still going strong on Saturday. With the weather taking a turn for the worse Sunday, and rain in the forcast (50% chance) and cooler temps for Monday, that hatch will most likely be drawn out a bit.
On Saturday May 14th I had a chance to float Warm River to Ashton in a 2015 Hyde complimentary of Miller Drift Boat with the entire family. The river had been pounded hard by the time we got the boat in the water around 3, but the fish were still interested in the big bugs as things heated up into the evening. I mostly fished with a Black's Triple Decker Salmon I picked up at IIFly in Ashton.
