The Boise River in town is flowing at 5,410 cfs (what does cfs mean?) To give you a perspective, the median flow is 854cfs and flood stage is 7000 cfs. We suggest to keep off the river until it drops! The water is cold, deep, & flowing fast! There are also trees that are in the flow, which makes things very dangerous.
Keep in mind, the South Fork of the Boise is closed to fishing until May 28.
Sorry for the bad news. Stay safe and stay off the Boise River, for now…
As of today, Lucky Peak, Aarowrock, and Anderson Ranch are all above 75% full. With a lot of snowpack in the high country, the flows should last for the next 4 – 6 weeks.
