Its Spring time here in Eastern Idaho which means it could be 55 degrees one day or blowing and drifting snow the next. Just like the different weather patterns we get this time of the year the Henry’s Fork fishes that way. One day you could have a good amount of Midges and BWO’s, and the next day nothing. Those that fish here this time of the year are used to that, but that’s why they call it fishing right? On the bright side the snow pack is at 103% of average, and Island Park Reservoir is at 92% of capacity. Hopefully, we can keep the temps moderate, some good spring rain, and a gradual snow melt, and the upcoming fishing season will be a great one.
News from the river have been mixed. Like I said above, one day is great and the next is a bust. Try to fish the peak temps of the day with good cloud cover if possible and you should be fairly successful. Remember to give us a call at the shop and come on in and we will assist you and give you advice for your day of fishing.
